Magical Journey at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Dalam kisah-kisah agama dan sejarah ada beberapa teks yang menyebutkan tentang keberadaan sihir di dunia ini. Sejujurnya aku adalah salah satu yang percaya keberadaan sihir. Namun entah kenapa kalau bicara soal sihir di Indonesia kesannya terlalu mistis dan menyeramkan. Padahal, apabila berbicara tentang sihir di negara-negara barat, seperti di Eropa, ceritanya terdengar seru.

In some of religion stories and history, there are some texts that said that magic do exist in this world. Honestly I am one of those people who believe that magic do exist. But I don't know why when talking about magic in Indonesia, the image will be kinda scary. On the contrary, talking about magic in western countries is very interesting for me.

Pasti kalian langsung ingat tentang Harry Potter kan? Aku pun salah satu penggemar film-film Harry Potter, dan karena hal ini pula aku sengaja mampir ke Osaka untuk mengunjungi sebuah tempat yang sangat aku ingin kunjungi sejak aku menjadi fans film tersebut.

All of these remind you of Harry Potter, don't they? Well I am actually one of the Potterhead, and because of this I went to Osaka on purpose to visit a place on my bucket-list since I became a fan of that movie.

Tujuan ku kali ini adalah Universal Studios Japan (USJ). Universal Studios adalah theme park yang ada banyak di berbagai lokasi di dunia, salah satu yang paling dekat dari Indonesia adalah Singapore. Namun, alasan ku memilih mengunjungi yang ada di Jepang karena USJ memiliki satu area atraksi yang menjadi ciri khas Universal Studios Japan yang terletak di Osaka ini, yaitu The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

My main destination this time is Universal Studios Japan (USJ). Universal Studios, as you know a theme park that located in some places all around the world, one of them the nearest from Indonesia is in Singapore. The reason I came to the one in Japan, is because USJ have an attraction area that became the earmark of Universal Studios Japan that located in Osaka, and that is The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

Awalnya aku kebingungan menemukan The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, karena lokasinya dikelilingi pohon-pohon cemara yang terkesan seperti berjalan menyusuri sebuah hutan, tidak terasa seperti di dalam sebuah theme park. 

At first I have trouble finding The Wizarding World of Harry Potter area, because the location was surrounded with pine trees, and made us feel like walking through a forest, I really don't feel like I was in a theme park.

Setelah melewati area pepohonan, aku sampai di gerbang Desa Hogsmeade. Semua yang ada di sini dibuat benar-benar mirip seperti yang ada di dalam film.

After walking through the forest, I arrived in front of Hogsmeade gate. All that was there are really similar like the one in the movie.

Bahkan lengkap dengan toko-toko seperti Zonko's Joke Shop dan Honeydukes, dengan atap bersalju membuat ku merasa sedang dalam adegan seri The Prisoner of Azkaban.

They even have shops like Zonko's Joke Shop and Honeydukes, with snowy roofs, made me feel like I was part of The Prisoner of Azkaban movie.

Tentu saja kalian bisa mencicipi butterbeer di sini!

Selain itu ada juga atraksi oleh murid-murid dari Beauxbatons & Durmstrang.

Tetap saja yang menjadi atraksi utama di tempat ini ada di kastil Hogwarts, sebuah atraksi berjudul Harry Potter and The Forbidden Journey.

But still, the main ride is in Hogwarts castle, an attraction called Harry Potter and The Forbidden Journey.

Untuk naik atraksi utama ini, terkadang harus antri hingga 3 bahkan 4 jam, terutama saat high season. Sangat disarankan sebaiknya datang bukan saat high season dan sebaiknya saat weekdays. Namun untuk mengirit waktu kalian bisa membeli Express Ticket untuk mempersingkat waktu antrian, alias melewati jalur antrian ekspress.

To take the main ride, sometimes it'll take you 3 or even 4 hours to line up, especially on high season. I recommend you to come when it's not high season, and better on weekdays. But, to shorten waiting time, you can buy Express Ticket to get the access to fast track.

Penasaran kan seperti apa isi dari kastil Hogwarts? Aku juga sudah tidak sabar ingin masuk ke dalam kastil Hogwarts, karena aku tau teman-teman ku Harry, Hermione dan Ron sudah menunggu di dalam XD (it's-not-Osaka-anymore-but-Hogwarts mode ON).

You are very curious about the inside of Hogwarts castle don't you? Me too, can't wait to enter Hogwarts castle, because my friends Harry, Hermione and Ron are already waiting for me inside (it's-not-Osaka-anymore-but-Hogwarts mode ON).

Akhirnya aku masuk ke kastil Hogwarts, dan langsung menuju kelas untuk mengikuti mata pelajaran Pertahanan Terhadap Ilmu Hitam (Defense Against the Dark Arts).

At last I can enter Hogwarts castle, and I rushed to the classroom to attend Defense Against the Dark Arts class.

Nah itu dia Harry, Ron dan Hermione! Sepertinya mereka sedang sibuk presentasi makalah untuk ujian akhir semester (?). Jadi aku lanjut menelusuri kastil Hogwarts yang sangat luas ini.

Look, there they are, Harry, Ron and Hermione! Looks like they're busy presenting their papers for the final exam (?). So I shall continue exploring this wide castle.

Di suatu sudut setelah melewati lorong, aku dikejutkan dengan banyak foto-foto di dinding yang bisa berbicara. Mereka terlalu berisik ngerumpi satu sama lain. Karena tidak mau jadi tukang gosip, jadi aku kembali menyelinap ke tempat lain.

In a corner of a hallway, I was surprised because there are lots of talking pictures on the wall. They are very noisy chit-chatting to each other. Since I don't like gossip, I shall continue exploring.

Aku menemukan sebuah jalan menuju ruang kantor kepala sekolah, Albus Dumbledore. Hmm tapi tidak bisa sembarangan masuk nih. Sepertinya aku butuh password untuk bisa masuk ke dalam. Apa ya passwordnya?

I found a way to the headmaster's office, Albus Dumbledore. Hmm but still I can't enter yet. I think I need a password to enter. What was the password again?

Oh! Sherbet Lemon!

Kalau aku yang jadi kepala sekolah, pasti aku butuh asisten supaya bisa tetap rapi seperti ini. Dan aku gak akan betah kalau tidak ada Wi-fi.

If I was the headmaster, I need an assistant to keep the office this neat. And I can't stand staying if there is no Wi-fi.

Tapi ada satu fasilitas yang sangat aku sukai, Pensieve! Kalau aku punya Pensieve, aku mau curi memori orang-orang dan intip satu persatu HAHAHA!

But there is one thing I love about this office, the Pensieve! If I can use it, I want to steal people's memories and peek them one by one HAHAHA!

Rasanya aku tidak boleh terlalu lama ada di Hogwarts, karena aku tau aku akan jadi penyihir yang jahat kalau punya kesempatan memperdalam ilmu sihir. Jadi aku kembali ke luar dan belanja oleh-oleh.

I think I can't stay longer in Hogwarts, because I probably will turn to an evil wizard if I had the chance to study sorcery. So I went outside and go shopping for some souvenirs.

Di salah satu toko, ada The Monster Book of Monster dalam sebuah kandang. Apa jadinya kalau buku ini tidak dikandangi? Mungkin semua pengunjung yang mencoba membukanya sudah habis digigit dengan gigi taringnya yang tajam.

Inside one of the shops, there is The Monster Book of Monster in a cage. What will it be if this thing was not caged? Probably all the customers will be bitten by this thing's sharp canine.

Oh iya, selain pernak pernik Harry Potter, kalian juga bisa membeli tongkat sihir, jubah, dan seragam Hogwarts. Ada satu yang sangat ingin aku beli sebagai oleh-oleh. Kalian tau gak apa?

Oh you can also buy magic wand, cloak, and Hogwarts uniform. And there is something I really want to buy as a souvenir. Can you guess?

How To Go

Naik JR Osaka Loop Line dari Osaka Station (Track No.1) ke Nishikujo Station (sekitar 10 menit).

Lalu dari Nishikujo Station naik JR Yumesaki Line menuju Universal City Station (sekitar 6 menit).

Take JR Osaka Loop Line from Osaka Station (Track No. 1) to Nishikujo Station (about 10 mins).

Then from Nishikujo Station take JR Yumesaki Line to Universal City Station (about 6 mins).
